There Are Three Falls
There are in fact 3 Niagara Falls. The biggest is the "Horseshoe Falls" that drops a million bath tubs of fresh water every minute, 160 feet. On many hot days the mist can easily be seen from Toronto. The "American Falls" are 100% geographically located in the USA but the best views are from the Canada side, right across from the Niagara Parks police station. The smallest falls is known as the "Bridal Veil Falls".
Electrical Mecca Generating Power to Millions
Niagara Falls is an electrical mecca and 100 years ago was the center of considerable wealth and excitement. In nearby Buffalo, NY, there were more millionaires than any other city in the USA. Nikola Tesla honed has craft and is honoured with a statue beside the original electric station.
The Start of the Bruce Trail
There is a 700 KM continuous hiking trail across the Niagara Escarpment. It starts in Niagara at Queenston Heights and ends at the tip of the Georgian Bay and Lake Huron in Tobermory.
There are amazing conservation areas throughout the Bruce Trail. If you want to spend a day hiking, Cave Springs, Mount Nemo, Crawford Lake and Rockwood are gems.
